Braces
We use traditional metal braces at our Flint office: durable brackets and wires that move teeth 24 hours a day. They remain one of the most effective orthodontic treatments available, for kids and adults alike.
- Custom colored bands you choose yourself and can change at every appointment
- Nothing to take out or put back in, so progress does not depend on daily habits
- Often the better fit for younger patients and more complex orthodontic cases
Clear Aligner Therapy
Clear aligner therapy is the other treatment we offer. We have been an Invisalign® provider since 2000 and are a Platinum Invisalign Provider, so we can tell you honestly when aligners will work as well as brackets and wires.
- Take them out for meals, brushing and flossing, sports, and photos
- No dietary restrictions, since the aligners come out before you eat
- A new set every 10 to 14 days, with check-ups every 12 weeks
Getting Braces at Our Flint Office, Step by Step
Most of our patients live within a 20 to 30 minute drive of one of our offices, so appointments fit around school and work. Here is how treatment works from the first visit.
Your Free Consultation
Come in for photos, a digital panoramic x-ray, and often a 3D iTero scan. Dr. Wendling, Dr. Perry, or Dr. Nolan then examines you in person. No charge, no obligation.
Your Customized Treatment Plan
Your doctor walks you through what your teeth actually need and what braces would involve day to day, then builds a plan around your goals and your timeline.
Treatment and Retention
We place your braces and see you regularly until they come off. After that, a removable clear retainer helps hold your results, and we will show you exactly how to wear it.
Your First Visit in Flint Is Free, No Obligation

They were timely and got me in when I was scheduled. The staff members were all very friendly and accommodating for me and my two children that had to accompany me to my appointment. I wasn’t made to feel a nuisance for having to bring my children, instead everyone was very understanding, welcoming, and even engaging with them. Dr. Wendling was very personable and kind. The staff gave my children toothbrushes and little stuffed animals even though they weren’t being seen and it was very heart warming. I would say this clinic is very family oriented and you can tell they really care about you.Posted on Google![]()

Absolutely amazing! My child had to get expanders today and everyone from the front desk staff to the assistant and orthodontist were absolutely amazing, patient, kind and caring. She was struggling and very nervous and they were so wonderful!Posted on Google![]()

This office has the BEST customer service! My son had his braces removed and needed a return visit the next day, unfortunately I was headed out the country and couldn’t make it in to pick up my son’s retainers, the office went out of their way to drop them off to him at school. That meant so much to us! It’s not every day you find a place that truly cares about their patients and families. We’re so grateful and highly recommend them!!Posted on Google![]()

We had our first experience with ortho today. We were anxious about the appt but the staff was incredible. Everyone was genuinely happy and full of joy. I caught myself being sad to leave haha Dr Perry was awesome . They walked us thru every step of the process and spent ample time ensuring my questions were answered. I was pleasantly surprised with pricing and we can’t wait to move forward with braces next week. The office is clean, and decorated so cute.Posted on Google![]()

Frequently Asked Questions From Flint Patients
Where is your Flint office, and how far is it from most of the city?
Our Flint office is at 1100 S Linden Rd, Flint, MI 48532. Most of our patients live within a 20 to 30 minute drive of one of our two offices, and if you are in Flint you are almost certainly well inside that. We are open Monday through Thursday from 8:00am to 5:00pm, and 7:30am to 1:00pm on select Fridays. Call 810-733-3410 and we will find an appointment time that works around school or work.
How long will I wear braces, and how often will I come in?
Treatment with braces typically takes 12 to 24 months. The exact timeline depends on what your teeth need, and Dr. Wendling, Dr. Perry, or Dr. Nolan will give you a realistic estimate at your consultation rather than a number designed to sound good. Some patients finish early and some go a little longer, but most land close to the estimate. During treatment you will come in about every 8 weeks so we can check your progress and make adjustments.
What age should my child first see an orthodontist?
The American Association of Orthodontists recommends that every child be seen by age 7. We like to evaluate kids once the front permanent teeth start to come in, usually between ages 6 and 10. That does not mean treatment starts then. Most children who come in that early are simply monitored as they grow. For the smaller group who would benefit from stepping in sooner, Phase I treatment usually runs 6 to 9 months and is recommended only when it will make a real difference, for problems like a crossbite or a narrow upper jaw.
Can adults get braces, or is orthodontic treatment mostly for kids?
It is never too late. About 25% of our orthodontic patients are adults, and healthy teeth can be moved at any age. Adults come to us for all kinds of reasons: teeth that shifted years after earlier orthodontic work, a bite that makes chewing uncomfortable, or simply deciding to finally do something they have thought about for a long time. Teeth that work better usually look better, too.
What should I do if a bracket comes off between appointments?
If a bracket comes off during office hours, you can usually be seen the same day to have it put back on. Call our Flint office at 810-733-3410 and we will find you a time. You do not need to wait until your next scheduled appointment. We would rather see you sooner and keep your treatment moving than have you sit with a loose bracket for weeks.
