The staff members were all very friendly and accommodating for me and my two children that had to accompany me to my appointment. I wasn’t made to feel a nuisance for having to bring my children, instead everyone was very understanding, welcoming, and even engaging with them. Dr. Wendling was very personable and kind. The staff gave my children toothbrushes and little stuffed animals even though they weren’t being seen and it was very heart warming. My son had his braces removed and needed a return visit the next day, unfortunately I was headed out the country and couldn’t make it in to pick up my son’s retainers, the office went out of their way to drop them off to him at school. At what age should my child first see an orthodontist?

The American Association of Orthodontics recommends children be seen by age 7. We like to evaluate young patients after the front permanent teeth start to appear, usually between ages 6 and 10. Early evaluation allows us to monitor development and determine the best time to begin treatment if needed.

How long does orthodontic treatment take?

Treatment with braces or Invisalign typically takes 12-24 months for comprehensive cases. Phase I early treatment usually lasts 6-9 months. Treatment time varies by patient—some finish early, some go longer, but most are close to the estimated time. We’ll provide you with a personalized timeline during your consultation.

Do you offer free consultations?

Yes. Your initial consultation includes photos, a digital panoramic x-ray, often a 3D iTero scan, a thorough examination by Dr. Wendling, Dr. Perry, or Dr. Nolan, and a customized treatment plan. There’s absolutely no obligation or charge for this visit.

Am I too old for braces or Invisalign?

It’s never too late. Approximately 25% of our patients are adults. Healthy teeth can be moved at any age, and teeth that work better usually look better too. A beautiful smile can improve self-esteem at any age. Our adult patients often tell us how happy they are they didn’t put off treatment.
